Five Ways to Make
Your Reception
More Fun

Every bridal couple has their own style, their own ideas on what they would like to see happen at their reception. But there is one thing everyone agrees on: they want everyone to have FUN! There are some very basic ways to create fun receptions…and there are some innovative ways few people know about. Let’s look at them…

Idea # 1: Interaction.

A masterful DJ/entertainer gets even shy guests involved in the fun way that makes everyone comfortable, whether it’s teaching dances or by simply playing fun music. In our pre-planning meetings we’ll go over this aspect to individualize the interaction level to your taste. This is perhaps the single most important way to insure your reception is a smash hit!

Idea # 2:
Choose a theme song.
At the beginning of the reception, for your introductions, instead of a drum roll, consider the theme song from “Rocky” as you enter. Other fun songs: “Chicago Bull’s Theme,” “Rock and Roll part II,” “Let’s Get This Party Started,” “Get Ready for This,” or the fight song from your alma mater; or any other song that is upbeat and meaningful to you both.

Idea # 3:
Party & wedding supplies
If your photographer is not staying for the entire reception, consider disposable cameras. They’re not expensive and easy to have developed. Instead of the same style of disposable bubbles, consider ones that have a specific shape like teddy bears, roses, hearts, western boots, ect. Have fun party toys added to centerpieces for example golf tees for the golfers or playing cards for the casino player. This can set a mood for a fun evening.

Idea # 4:
Get the kids involved.
It’s physically impossible to get children to stay still for long periods of time. Fun ideas for outside weddings include piñatas, bubbles or kites. For indoors try inflatable guitars, Hawaiian leis, bubbles, songs like the chicken dance or the hokey pokey. You can also consider hiring a sitter or a clown to entertain them.
Idea #5: Add karaoke.
Karaoke provides a fun enhancement or alternative to dancing. Your guests don’t have to be “American Idols” to sound like one. The professional DJ can maintain a fun attitude while your guests demonstrate their vocal talents. Don’t be surprised when the shy one gets up to sing the “YMCA”.

Tricia performed at our wedding. She was so wonderful to deal with and did a great job with the entertainment. We would highly recommend her to anyone.
